Position Overview: Quality Assurance/Controller Engineer

Reporting directly to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling all quality-related documentation to ensure strict compliance with project specifications, ISO standards, and client requirements. This full-time role is pivotal in supporting the QA/QC department through meticulous document control and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities for QC QA Jobs in Kalumbila Zambia

• Maintain and control all QA/QC documents, records, and correspondence with accuracy.
• Implement proper distribution, revision control, and systematic filing of project documentation.
• Prepare and regularly update document registers, transmittals, and tracking logs.
• Coordinate documentation requirements with engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams.
• Review technical documents, drawings, procedures, and material submittals to ensure compliance.
• Assist in preparing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality reports.
• Monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and documentation close-outs.
• Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, testing, welding, coatings, and material traceability.
• Support audits, quality inspections, and handover documentation processes.
• Ensure timely submission of as-built documentation and final QA/QC dossiers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Certification in Document Control or QA/QC is advantageous.
• Proven knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Familiarity with construction, fabrication, or engineering documentation processes.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience in QA/QC and document control within construction, mining, fabrication, oil & gas, or industrial projects preferred.
• Experience handling technical drawings, material submittals, and quality records.
• Knowledge of fire-rated doors, steel fabrication, or mechanical/electrical documentation is an added benefit.

Technical and Soft Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems such as SharePoint or EDMS.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD drawing review.
• Strong grasp of QA/QC procedures, document revision control, inspection/testing documentation, and material traceability systems.
• Excellent organizational and filing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and reporting skills.

Preferred Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and inspection records.
• Experience with client approval processes and project close-out documentation.
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
