About the Human Rights Commission
The Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) is a National Human Rights Institution established under Article 230 of the Constitution of Zambia. The Commission has the constitutional mandate to uphold and protect the Bill of Rights. The Main Purpose of the Role
To undertake public relations functions to promote a positive image of the Commission.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to the Director-General and will be responsible for:
Managing the development and review of the Communication Policy to guide information dissemination;
Managing the development and review of the public Relations and Media plan to enhance the Commission’s visibility and image;
Managing timely preparation of press statements and briefings to provide information;
Managing the timely updating of content on the website to disseminate information to the public and other stakeholders;
Managing the preparation of responses to press and public queries to provide the position of the commission on specific matters;
Managing the coordination of production of brochures, magazines, newsletters, promotional videos and electronic publications to facilitate dissemination of information; and
Managing the administration of corporate functions and events to project a good corporate image.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Must have a full Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ Level credits or better.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or its equivalent.
Must have a minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification experience, two (2) of which should be at the Managerial Level
Must be a paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication
Skills/attributes required
computer literacy, initiative, Confidentiality, Integrity, Interpersonal and knowledge of social media platforms.
