To carry out on-site gold testing, sampling, and assaying to determine purity, composition, and value of gold sourced from artisanal and small-scale miners (ASMs) and other suppliers, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with responsible sourcing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct on-site assaying of gold using XRF analysers or the density method Record and report gold purity results, weights, and related data in line with approved procedures.
Support verification of the chain of custody for all gold received, ensuring traceability.
Maintain calibration and performance logs for assay equipment.
Liaise with purchasers and supervisors to confirm assay-based pricing for each transaction.
Prepare and submit daily assay and quality reports to Head Office.
Ensure responsible sourcing compliance, verify that gold originates from approved sources and non-conflict areas.
Maintain a secure and safe work environment for handling precious metals.
Participate in periodic stock reconciliation and audits at the buying centres.

GCE or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included.
Diploma in Metallurgy, Mining, Geology, Chemistry, Assaying or related field.
At least 2 years’ experience in mineral assaying or laboratory work (precious metals preferred).
Familiarity with density and XRF techniques for measuring purity of gold.
Understanding of gold purity measurement and reporting standards.
Key Competencies:

Proficiency with assay instruments and data logging.
