VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: CHICKEN FARM WORKERS & SECURITY GUARD

Vaimar Farms Limited is a growing agricultural enterprise dedicated to high-quality egg production. We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, and reliable personnel to join our livestock production and security teams.

POSITION 1: POULTRY MEN (3 VACANCIES)

Job Purpose:

To provide day-to-day operational care, feeding, and monitoring of birds within our rearing facilities, ensuring optimal flock health, growth targets, and strict biosecurity compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Flock Care: Administer daily feed, clean water, and prescribed medications/vaccinations strictly according to farm schedules and management directives.
• Environmental Control: Monitor and adjust poultry house ventilation curtains, lighting schedules, and feeding lines to maintain ideal conditions for chickens in the rearing stage.
• Biosecurity Enforcement: Always maintain strict biosecurity standards, including the consistent use of footbaths, attire changes, and facility sanitization to prevent disease.
• On-Site Vigilance: Participate in rotational shifts, including evening and weekend monitoring, to ensure 24/7 bird welfare and comfort.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Grade 9 or Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Practical hands-on experience handling commercial poultry (broilers, layers, or rearing stock) is highly preferred.
• Prior technical training or practical attachments at a recognized agricultural facility is a major advantage.
• Exceptional reliability, fitness to perform physical farm labour, and willingness to live on-site in provided farm quarters.

POSITION 2: SECURITY GUARD (1 VACANCY)

Job Purpose:

To safeguard Vaimar Farms’ premises, assets, livestock, and personnel through constant surveillance, gate access control, and proactive risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Access Control: Manage the main farm entrance gate, verify identities, inspect incoming/outgoing vehicles, and maintain an accurate visitor logbook.
• Patrols & Surveillance: Conduct regular day and night foot patrols across the farm perimeters, poultry houses, and equipment stores to detect and deter theft or trespassing.
• Biosecurity Enforcement: Ensure all incoming vehicles pass through the tire disinfection bath and strictly enforce hand sanitizing and footbath protocols for all visitors at the main gate before entry.
• Asset Protection: Secure valuable farm machinery, feed inventories, solar arrays, and infrastructure assets against vandalism or loss.
• Incident Reporting: Immediately log and report any security breaches, suspicious movements, or property damage to the supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Grade 9 or Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Proven track record with verifiable reference letters from previous employers (This will be an added advantage).
• Prior security experience in a commercial agricultural, poultry farm, or heavy industrial setup is highly desirable.
• Honest, alert, highly disciplined, and physically fit to perform proactive emergency responses.
