Role Overview

As a Poultry Man at Vaimar Farms Limited, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and monitoring of birds within our rearing facilities. Your role is critical in ensuring the health and growth of our flocks while maintaining stringent biosecurity measures.

Key Responsibilities for Poultry Men

• Administer daily feed, clean water, and medications or vaccinations according to farm schedules and management instructions.
• Monitor and adjust poultry house conditions, including ventilation, lighting, and feeding systems, to optimize bird welfare.
• Enforce strict biosecurity protocols, including the use of footbaths, attire changes, and regular facility sanitization to prevent disease outbreaks.
• Participate in rotational shifts, including evenings and weekends, to ensure continuous oversight of bird welfare.

Qualifications and Requirements for Poultry Men

• Minimum educational attainment of Grade 9 or Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Preferably hands-on experience with commercial poultry such as broilers, layers, or rearing stock.
• Technical training or practical attachments at recognized agricultural institutions are advantageous.
• Physically fit and reliable, with a willingness to reside on-site in farm-provided accommodation.

Security Guard Position – Protect Our Farm Assets

Position Available: One (1) Security Guard

Security Guard Role Summary

We seek a vigilant and disciplined Security Guard to safeguard Vaimar Farms’ premises, assets, livestock, and personnel. The role involves continuous surveillance, access control, and proactive risk management to maintain a secure environment.

Primary Duties of the Security Guard

• Control access at the main farm entrance by verifying identities, inspecting vehicles, and maintaining visitor logs.
• Conduct regular foot patrols, both day and night, around farm perimeters, poultry houses, and equipment storage areas to deter theft and trespassing.
• Enforce biosecurity measures by ensuring all vehicles undergo tire disinfection and visitors comply with hand sanitizing and footbath protocols before entry.
• Protect valuable farm machinery, feed stocks, solar installations, and infrastructure from vandalism or loss.
• Report any security incidents or suspicious activities promptly to the supervisor.

Security Guard Candidate Requirements

• Minimum Grade 9 or Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Proven experience as a security guard, ideally within agricultural, farm, or industrial settings.
• Honest, alert, disciplined, and physically capable of responding to emergencies proactively.
