Poultry Attendant

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Feed and water layers and pullets as per schedule.
2. Collect, grade and record eggs accurately.
3. Monitor flock health and report any signs of disease or abnormality.
4. Maintain housing conditions including lighting, ventilation, tempreture and cleanness.
5. Clean and disinfect houses, equipment and surroundings.
6. Assist with vaccinations, beak trimming, transfers and other flock management activities.
7. Ensure biosecurity, remove mortalities and dispose as per company procedures.
8. Maintain daily records and report stock, feed, water and equipment issues
9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the farm supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Grade 12 certificate
2. Certificate/ Diploma in Poultry Production, Animal Science or related field is an advantage
3. Knowledge of poultry husbandry, flock management and biosecurity
4. Physically fit and willing to work weekends, public holidays and shifts
5. Honest, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
6. Good communication and teamwork skills.
