About the Role
Our client, a leading fintech organisation in the digital payments sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic POS Network Senior Manager to lead and oversee the performance, growth, and operational excellence of its POS network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the overall POS business strategy, expanding the merchant and terminal network, and ensuring seamless deployment, stability, and performance of POS infrastructure and operations.
This role requires a strong leader with deep experience in payments, fintech, or banking operations, and a proven ability to manage large-scale POS networks, stakeholder relationships, and cross-functional teams. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring high system uptime, efficient operations, and sustainable transaction growth across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall POS network growth and operational strategy.
- Oversee POS terminal deployment, maintenance, and end-to-end operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders including banks, aggregators, merchants, and service providers.
- Monitor POS transaction performance and ensure optimal system uptime and service reliability.
- Lead, manage, and develop the POS Operations and POS Sales teams to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal operational standards, policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for network expansion and business growth.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports, dashboards, and strategic insights to management.
- Manage and resolve escalated merchant, technical, and operational issues in a timely and effective manner.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience in fintech, payments, banking, or digital financial services.
- Strong understanding of POS systems, merchant acquiring, and digital payment ecosystems.
- Proven leadership experience managing operational or technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and operational management capabilities.
- Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment with multiple priorities.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience managing large-scale POS networks or payment infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Zambia’s or regional digital payments regulatory environment.
- Experience working with banks, payment aggregators, or fintech service providers.
- Professional certifications in Project Management, IT, Operations, or Financial Services will be an added advantage.
- Experience in system uptime optimisation, payment switching, or transaction monitoring platforms.
