About the Plant Operator Positions

WWSC invites applications for five full-time Plant Operator roles. The successful candidates will play a critical role in operating pumps, chlorinators, and other equipment at pump stations and water treatment plants to ensure the efficient production and distribution of potable water.

Key Responsibilities for Plant Operator Jobs in Mongu

• Operate pumps and valves to regulate water flow and treatment processes effectively.
• Record operational data accurately for plant machinery and processes.
• Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and rehabilitation on plant equipment to maintain water quality standards.
• Administer precise dosages of water treatment chemicals, including chlorine, using chlorinators in compliance with National Water and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, wells, tanks, and surrounding areas to support hygienic operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a full Grade 12 certificate.
• Craft certificate in water supply operations, power electrical crafts, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with the local area is advantageous.
• Knowledge of water supply systems and meter operations is a plus.
• Age between 20 and 35 years.
