Physiotherapist Opportunity at Mary Begg Health Services in Ndola

Mary Begg Health Services invites qualified professionals to apply for physiotherapist jobs in Ndola. We seek a dedicated physiotherapist to support patients with neurological, neuromusculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory conditions. This role focuses on alleviating pain and improving mobility through evidence-based physiotherapy techniques, including exercise, massage, and other therapeutic interventions.

Role Overview for Physiotherapist Jobs in Ndola

The physiotherapist will operate primarily on a referral basis, managing the outpatient physiotherapy service efficiently and ethically in line with international standards. This position requires expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating physical impairments caused by illness, injury, or disability. The successful candidate will develop personalized care plans to help patients regain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to Mary Begg Health Services policies, procedures, and local physiotherapy regulations.
  • Organize, prioritize, and manage daily patient caseloads, ensuring punctuality for appointments.
  • Operate and maintain automated physiotherapy equipment, performing daily safety checks and reporting malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of treatment rooms and equipment before each patient session.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate range of movement and functional abilities.
  • Design and implement tailored physiotherapy treatment plans using techniques such as physical manipulation, therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, ultrasound, acupuncture, and hydrotherapy.
  • Document patient progress accurately and communicate treatment outcomes to referring medical doctors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to monitor and evaluate treatment effectiveness, reporting any lack of improvement within two weeks.
  • Educate patients on proper exercise techniques and self-care strategies.
  • Identify service gaps and communicate recommendations to the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Manage procurement, storage, and inventory of physiotherapy supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and expiry protocols.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment in accordance with MBHS standards.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, meetings, and mandatory training sessions.
  • Uphold infection control policies and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with all relevant national legal and professional regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy required; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience practicing physiotherapy in a reputable medical facility.
  • Strong communication skills coupled with effective management and organizational abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
