About Specialty Emergency Services and the Role

SES delivers comprehensive emergency medical services, including medical evacuations, occupational health, event medical cover, and remote site healthcare. The ALS Paramedic will join the Medical Services – Operations Department, reporting operationally to the Operations Manager and clinically to the Chief Medical Officer. The role demands providing advanced pre-hospital emergency care while maintaining the operational readiness of ambulances, medical equipment, and supplies.

Key Responsibilities for Paramedic Jobs in Lusaka

• Deliver Advanced Life Support emergency medical care and patient stabilization in pre-hospital settings.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls, medical evacuations, and inter-facility transfers via road and air ambulance.
• Assess, treat, monitor, and safely transport critically ill or injured patients.
• Ensure ambulances, medical equipment, drugs, and consumables are operationally ready at all times.
• Maintain accurate patient care records and complete all operational documentation.
• Adhere strictly to SES Clinical Practice Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and HPCZ professional standards.
• Participate in on-call duties, medical standbys, and deployments to remote, industrial, and mining sites as required.
• Support fleet inspections, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Diploma or Degree in Advanced Life Support Paramedicine or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Current HPCZ Practicing License.
• Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in ALS paramedic roles, specifically in emergency ambulance services and pre-hospital care.

Preferred Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Aviation Medicine or Healthcare Provider Training

Additional Experience Advantages:

• Air ambulance operations.
• Mining, industrial, occupational health, or remote site medical services.
• Critical care transport and medical evacuation.
