Job description
Purpose of the role:
Job Overview
To provide painting and finishing services on a variety of Hitachi Components and rebuilt equipment to meet high quality standards that also meet the customers’ expectations.
Reports To: Senior Machine Shop Supervisor
Branch: Remanufacturing – Lusaka
Contract Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
The Painter will be required to perform the following tasks:
Ensure Health and Safety standards, Regulations and Procedures are adhered to at all times.
Participate in safety meetings.
Ensure tools are available and kept in good condition, and machinery is maintained to the highest standards.
Prepare components/rebuilt equipment for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces to ensure a clean finish.
Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve desired colors and finishes, following established guidelines.
Sandblasting of components.
Operate a variety of Industrial Paint equipment such as spray guns, brushes, rollers and other tools, ensuring even coverage and flawless finish.
Inspect painted surfaces for quality, addressing any imperfection through touch ups and refinishing as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely completion of painting jobs.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 Certificate.
Minimum of a Skills Award Level 3 Certificate/ Trade Test Certificate from a recognized institution.
Minimum experience of 3 years in a similar fast-paced environment.
Practicing Member of EIZ.

Knowledge of Safety Standards
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality standards.
