Position Overview: Offloading and Loading Specialist

As an Offloading and Loading Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and proper management of materials entering and leaving the warehouse. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the condition of goods, guiding handlers on standardized loading practices, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will also oversee the warehouse environment to preserve material integrity and implement inventory control principles such as FIFO to prevent overstocking or expiry.

Key Responsibilities for Offloading and Loading Specialist Jobs in Lusaka

• Inspect materials upon entry and exit for damage or deterioration, document any anomalies, and provide timely feedback.
• Direct handlers to load materials systematically based on category, batch, and the “first in, first out” principle, ensuring inventory records are updated accordingly.
• Conduct regular inspections of warehouse conditions, including temperature, humidity, insect protection, and moisture control, to maintain optimal storage environments.
• Apply the FIFO principle rigorously to avoid expired or excess stock accumulation.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory counts to identify discrepancies and investigate their causes promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or CIPS qualification.
• At least two years of relevant experience in warehouse, inventory management, or stores department operations.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and warehouse operational procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, responsibility, and a proactive approach to safety.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
