Job description

POSITION 1: Foreman – Asphalt Paving

Location: Mpika Road Construction

Employer: China Jiangxi

Qualifications
Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum 15 years total work experience
Minimum 10 years experience in asphalt paving
Key Responsibilities
Supervise all asphalt laying operations
Coordinate with the asphalt plant to ensure continuous supply
Ensure proper temperature control, compaction, jointing, and finishing
Manage paving equipment and crew performance
Monitor quality and support QC testing
Enforce safety procedures and maintain paving records
POSITION 2: Laboratory Supervisor

Location: Mpika Road Construction

Employer: China Jiangxi

Qualifications
BSc in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum 15 years work experience
Minimum 10 years experience in laboratory supervision
Key Responsibilities
Set up and manage the site laboratory
Oversee soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt testing
Maintain equipment, calibration, and laboratory safety
Supervise and train laboratory technicians
Review test results, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance
Support quality verification and reporting requirements
POSITION 3: Supervisor – Concrete Works

Location: Mpika Road Construction

Employer: China Jiangxi Corporation

Qualifications
Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum 15 years general work experience
Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in concrete structures
Key Responsibilities
Oversee concrete operations including mixing, placement, compaction, and curing
Supervise construction of culverts, bridges, retaining walls, drains, kerbs, and related structures
Monitor formwork erection, alignment, and removal
Check reinforcement placement for compliance with drawings/specifications
Coordinate concrete testing (slump tests, cube samples, etc.)
Ensure concrete quality standards are met
Plan casting schedules and coordinate with batching plant
Lead carpenters, steel fixers, and general workers; ensure productivity and safety
Ensure correct use of equipment (mixers, vibrators, pumps) and report maintenance needs
Verify concrete dimensions, levels, finish quality, and identify defects
Maintain concrete records, test results, and daily reports
Enforce safety procedures during all structural and concrete activities
POSITION 4: Measurement Engineer

Location: Mpika Road Construction

Employer: China Jiangxi Corporation

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related field
Minimum 15 years work experience
Minimum 10 years experience in quantity measurement for civil works
Key Responsibilities
Carry out accurate measurements of works executed on site
Prepare detailed measurement sheets and maintain updated BOQs
Conduct monthly measurements and prepare interim payment certificates
Measure earthworks, pavement layers, structures, drainage, and other road items
Identify and document variations and prepare quantities for variation orders
Verify consultant/contractor measurements and reconcile differences
Support preparation of payment claims, rate analyses, and final accounts
Keep organized records, sketches, and photographic evidence
Coordinate with surveyors, site engineers, and project managers
Ensure measurements comply with CESMM, SMM, FIDIC, and contract requirements
Prepare monthly measurement reports and financial forecasts
