Manage the formulation of the department’s annual work plan and budgets against set objectives and policies, and thereafter presents the budget for consolidation into the NMB Budget;

Manage the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive annual audit plan, subject to Board approval

Review governance and operational systems in the Board to ensure compliance with set policies, plans and best practices, laws and regulations; and determine whether NMB departments are in compliance and suggest improvements where required;

Review the reliability and integrity of financial information and the means used to identify, measure, classify and report such information, and determine the degree to which they comply with established Board policies, efficiency and effectiveness;

Review the means of safeguarding assets such as equipment, buildings and labour, and as appropriate, verify the existence of such assets;

Review operations and programs to ascertain whether results are consistent with established policies, objectives and goals and whether the operations or programs are being carried out as planned;

Assist in the implementation of recommendations from internal audit, reports to those members of management who should be informed or who should take corrective action, the results of audit examinations, the audit opinions formed, and the recommendations made, and evaluates any plans or actions taken to correct reported conditions for satisfactory disposition of audit findings;

Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc audit reports for submission to the Audit Committee of the Board;

Supervise and review the performance of subordinates to ensure effective execution of work plans and related activities in key result areas; and

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Board and the Director General from time to time

Grade 12 School Certificate

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and or such as ZICA, CIMA or ACCA

Member of ZICA

Six years experience, three of which should have been at senior level

2. KEEPER OF ETHNOGRAPHY

Location: Choma Museum and Craft Centre

Job Purpose

To plan research, collection acquisitions, collection documentation, curatorial services, exhibition mounting, publications, de-accessioning and inventory in order to enhance interpretation and preservation of collections.Job application tracker

Main Duties

Plans research, collections acquisition, collection documentation, curatorial services, mounting of exhibitions, publications and storage of collections.

Co-ordinates and conducts regular research activities to ensure compliance to the mission statement of the Board with research staff.

Ensures compliance to acceptable documentation of collection system for easy retrieval, identification, and security of collections.

Co-ordinates timely acquisition programmes of objects/specimens in order to increase and fill gaps in the institutional collections.

Ensures adequate storage facilities to enhance collection management.

Oversees the efficient curation of collection in order to prolong its life span.

Undertakes inventory to determine the number of collections and propose initiation of de-accessing process of objects/specimen that are in bad condition in order to prevent further infection.

Co-ordinates exhibition activities for effective dissemination of knowledge to achieve the Board mission and objectives.

Ensures regular inspection of collections in the storerooms and galleries by all research and conservation staff to determine their condition.

Conducts effective exhibition mounting and research publications by providing lectures/seminars regularly and working with the Marketing department in order to market museum activities to the public.

Provides effective management as a supervisor of all research staff and material resources in order to attain the Board’s objectives.

Consolidates quarterly and annual reports in order to highlight the operations of the department.

Qualifications

Grade 12 Full School Certificate or its equivalent

Degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent

Master’s degree in Social/Cultural Anthropology, Sociology is an added advantage

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the cultural sector

3. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing, or ZIM Professional Diploma in Marketing or CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Grade 12 Full School Certificate or its equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

A member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing.

Demonstrated success developing complex products from ideation to launch.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Proficiency in product management tools platforms.

Job Purpose
