CEC Renewables Overview
CEC Renewables Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC), incorporated as a platform for renewable energy expansion, designed to scale up the deployment of renewable energy across the Zambian Grid. The Company’s principal activity is renewable energy generation. CEC Renewables currently has an installed capacity of 94MWp of Photovoltaic (PV) solar power generated from its 34MW and 60MW solar power plants in Riverside and Itimpi, Kitwe, respectively.
Career Opportunities (Based in Kitwe)
1. Assistant Accountant and Administration Officer (01)
This role will be responsible for raising payments, assisting with various accounting functions, contributing to financial reporting, and providing support in payroll management, budgeting, and compliance activities. The job holder will report to the Finance Manager.
2. Safety Coordinator (01)
This role will be responsible for supporting the safe planning, execution, and operation of renewable energy assets by implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures, and practices. The role also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, promotes a strong safety culture on-site, and works to prevent accidents and occupational hazards across the business.
The job holder will report to the HSES and Community Liaison Officer.
3. Electrician Technician (03)
This role will be responsible for carrying out effective maintenance of equipment installed at CEC renewable solar plants.
The job holder will report to the Operations and Maintenance Engineer.
4. Mechanical Technician (02)
This role will be responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance, repair, and operational support for CEC Renewables Limited’s solar power plants, including both fixed and tracking PV systems, as well as associated switchgear and transformer stations. The role ensures reliability, safety, and efficiency of all mechanical and electromechanical systems across the plants.
The job holder will report to the Operations and Maintenance Engineer.
5. Solar Plant Operations Assistant (03)
This role will be responsible for ensuring that the solar photovoltaic power plant runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This position will be responsible for daily monitoring of the performance metrics of the PV assets.
The job holder will report to the Operations and Maintenance Engineer.
6. Operator (03)
This role will be responsible for driving Company vehicles to transport authorised personnel and freight to and/or from various locations, as well as operate trucks and off-highway equipment to transport high-value consignments and perform earthmoving operations in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
The job holder will report to the Supervisor – Transport.
7. Solar Technician (03)
This role will be responsible for carrying out routine and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation of Solar PV Assets. The role ensures reliable plant operation, safety compliance, and achievement of energy generation targets.
The job holder will report to the Operations and Maintenance Engineer.
