Job description
Great North Road Academy Special Needs Center is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated individuals to fill in full-time positions.
1. POSITION: FULL TIME TEACHER.
- Subject Combinations: Commercials with ICT
- Subject Combinations: English with History
The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education in any related field with the subject combination Certified
- Must have a valid practicing license from Teaching Council of Zambia.
- Computer Literate.
- Must have a minimum of atleast Two (2)years work experience of teaching.
- Additional advantage teaching learners with different disabilities
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Result and goal-oriented.
2. POSITION: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
The ideal candidates should have the following qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ),Valid practicing license.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Result and goal-oriented.
3.POSITION:TEACHER AID
- Grade 12 certificate
- Certificate in care giving added advantage
- Experience in taking care of learner’s or members of society with special needs.
- Experience as a teacher aide is an added advantage.
- Must be willing to obtain necessary training.
4.POSITION:BOARDING MISTRESS
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and care for students in the boarding facility, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Support students’ personal, social, and emotional development.
- Enforce school rules and routines consistently and fairly.
- Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies as needed.
- Organize and supervise activities and outings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students.
- Record and report any concerns regarding students’ health, safety, or wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in a special education setting.
- Compassionate, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake).
- Flexibility and adaptability.
