Job description

Silondwa Safaris Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced members of the public for the following vacant position:

Job Title: Marketing and Sales Manager

Job Purpose:

To research new market opportunities and develop various marketing strategies in the travel and tourism products and services as well as oversee growth projects, making sales projections and forecasting revenue, implement marketing plans and work to meet sales goals.

Main Duties:

(a) Contributes information, ideas, and research to help develop marketing strategies to penetrate the travel and tourism business in Samfya and the surrounding districts.
(b) Analyses market trends, data, demographics, pricing strategies, and other information that can potentially improve marketing and sales performance
(c) Details, designs, and implements marketing plans for each travel and tourism product or service being offered
(d) Sets marketing schedules and coordinates with colleagues, sponsors, media representatives, and other professionals to implement strategies across multiple channels
(e) Develops sales strategies and approaches for various travel and tourism products and services, such as special promotions, sponsored events, etc.
(f) Maintains excellent relationships with clients through superior customer service and answers questions from clients about travel and tourism product and service benefits
(g) Tracks sales data and works to meet sales team goals
(h) Creates and presents regular performance reports for Management attention
(i) Implements and adheres to company policies and procedures
(j) Attends trade shows and travels to meet clients as needed

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Business Administration/ Travel & Tourism Management or other relevant field/ discipline.
2 to 3 years prior proven experience in Marketing/business growth related to the tourism industry

Skills and Competencies Requirements

Proven experience as marketing & salas Manager or other related Business managerial position
Demonstrable experience in developing sale & Marketing strategic and business plans
Good understanding of sale & market trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the Tourism industry
Familiarity with corporate and management best practices
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding data gathering, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Good understanding of sale & market trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the Tourism industry
High ethical standards and integrity
Basic proficiency in the use of MS Office tools
