Management Trainee Human Resource Jobs in Lusaka – NVL Internship Opportunity

NVL is seeking a motivated Management Trainee – Human Resource and Administration to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. About the Management Trainee Human Resource Jobs in Lusaka

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Management Trainee will support the Human Resources & Administration department by assisting in a variety of operational and administrative tasks. This role is designed to nurture future leaders through hands-on experience in people management, office support, and workplace services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resource Support: Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction, employee documentation, attendance tracking, leave management, and payroll coordination.
  • Support employee welfare initiatives, performance management, disciplinary processes, and HR policy implementation.
  • Coordinate staff training, orientation, engagement activities, and assist with grievance handling and employee relations.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage office filing systems, procurement of supplies and uniforms, scheduling meetings, report preparation, and calendar maintenance.
  • Assist in facility management including office cleanliness, security, maintenance, and asset monitoring.
  • Coordinate logistics such as transport, accommodation, and departmental support services.
  • Canteen Management: Supervise daily canteen operations ensuring timely meal preparation, adherence to food hygiene and safety standards, stock control, and cost management.
  • Gardens and Grounds: Assist in maintaining company gardens, landscaping, outdoor cleanliness, and safety standards while supporting beautification projects.
  • Learning & Development: Rotate through HR, Administration, Canteen, and Gardens departments to gain broad operational knowledge and prepare reports to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is required.

  • Strong organizational abilities and capacity to multitask effectively.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of health, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
  • Professionalism, integrity, initiative, adaptability, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
