Taste the Difference – Quality Fresh Meat and Butchery Products

Position: Blockman (Butcher)
Outlet / Branch: Mwinilunga Outlet
Company: Lubona Meat Products Ltd
Location: Mwinilunga, North-Western Province, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Closing Date: 6th November 2026

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, bone, trim, slice, and portion meat cuts (beef, pork, poultry, sausages, and offals) according to quality specifications.
  • Prepare attractive butchery display counters and ensure correct pricing labels and product packaging.
  • Operate band saws, meat mincers, slicers, and cutting equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain cold chain storage standards, stock rotation (FIFO), and proper storage in walk-in chillers and freezers.
  • Ensure the highest level of butchery hygiene, personal sanitization, and food safety standards.
  • Serve customers courteously, advising on cuts, weights, and cooking recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or demonstrable butchery apprenticeship/experience.
  • Proven experience as a Blockman, Butcher, or Butchery Assistant in a butchery or meat retail outlet.
  • Knowledge of meat cuts, carcass breakdown, meat processing machinery, and food safety standards.
  • Physical stamina and dedication to clean, hygienic working practices.
