Position Overview: Lowbed Driver

The Lowbed Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of oversized and overweight mining machinery such as excavators and bulldozers. This role demands strict adherence to national road safety laws, company policies, and client delivery schedules, while demonstrating professionalism and accountability at all times.

Key Responsibilities for Lowbed Driver Jobs in Ndola

• Operate a lowbed trailer to transport heavy equipment and assigned cargo safely.
• Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo in line with safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and report any mechanical issues promptly to the Workshop or Operations Manager.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery notes, and trip sheets as mandated by Zambian law and company policy.
• Comply fully with all road safety regulations and guidelines set by the Road Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA).
• Adhere to Dangerous Goods transportation standards when applicable.
• Report any incidents, delays, or operational concerns without delay.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good working condition.
• Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients, law enforcement, and the public.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks across Zambia.
• At least 30 years of age.
• Proficient and confident in operating a lowbed trailer.
• Excellent driving skills with strong defensive driving awareness.
• Possession of a valid Zambian PSV Licence suitable for heavy trucks.
• Valid Dangerous Cargo Certificate.
• Clean criminal record obtained within the last 3 months.
• No history of major traffic violations or accidents.
• Physically fit to handle the demands of long-distance driving.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and strong work discipline.
• Safety and security conscious with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
