Position Overview

As a Logistics Supervisor based in our Sakania office, you will be responsible for managing all logistics operations, including sourcing reliable transporters and overseeing cargo movement from loading to offloading. Your leadership will ensure compliance with local and cross-border regulations while optimizing route planning to maximize transit efficiency and cargo security.

Key Responsibilities for Logistics Supervisor Jobs in Ndola

• Identify and source transporters for client cargo along North and South Bound routes.
• Manage logistics operations both locally and across borders within the Southern Region.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant transit, customs, and import/export legislation.
• Monitor cargo routes, rest stops, and delivery schedules to maintain smooth operations.
• Provide timely support to team members, drivers, clients, and liaise with customs officials and clearing agents.
• Plan and establish efficient cargo routes to enhance transit performance and security.
• Continuously develop team skills through coaching and technical training.
• Offer administrative support and act as a liaison between the logistics team and executive leadership.
• Prepare detailed operational reports on team performance and efficiency.
• Conduct regular departmental audits to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with Credit or higher in Mathematics and English.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Transport and Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a reputable transport and logistics company.
• Strong familiarity with inland transportation, warehousing, ocean transportation, and clearing procedures.

Required Competencies

• Highly motivated with an extensive network of transporters.
• In-depth knowledge of North and South Bound cargo movements, including routes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent decision-making and leadership skills with the ability to organize and motivate a team effectively.
• Capability to set and monitor relevant KPIs to ensure team targets are met.
