About the job

Job Overview:

We are a dynamic manufacturing and distribution company supplying products to our own outlets and major retail chains such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Choppies, and Cheers. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Intern to join our logistics team. This internship is ideal for individuals looking to gain practical experience in supply chain operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Daily Invoicing: Generate and file delivery invoices in coordination with the sales and dispatch team.

· Proof of Delivery (POD) Tracking: Monitor, verify, and file PODs daily to ensure timely and accurate record-keeping.

· Route Planning: Assist in creating efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel usage.

· Vehicle Maintenance Reports: Compile and update vehicle maintenance logs and service reminders.

· Stock Coordination: Support warehouse staff in preparing stock for dispatch and verifying invoice documentation.

· Delivery Documentation: Assist in preparing and organizing delivery notes, receipts, and trip logs.

· Fuel Consumption Monitoring: Record fuel usage per trip and reconcile with trip distances.

· Customer Support: Follow up with clients on deliveries and document feedback.

· Data Entry & Filing: Maintain up-to-date electronic and physical filing systems for logistics operations.

· Administrative Support: Assist the logistics manager with clerical tasks, reporting, and internal communication.

Qualifications:

· Diploma or higher in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field

· Strong interest in logistics and transport operations.

· Good organizational and time management skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Basic understanding of route planning and invoice delivery documentation

· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

· Team player with good communication skills
