The Loan Officer position is integral to our expansion in Kitwe, focusing on client acquisition, credit evaluation, portfolio management, and superior customer service. This full-time role offers the opportunity to engage directly with clients and support sustainable financial growth within the community.

Key Responsibilities for Loan Officer Jobs in Kitwe

• Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Identify and onboard new clients through fieldwork, referrals, and partnerships; build lasting relationships with individuals, SMEs, and community networks; actively promote Dorset’s comprehensive loan products.
• Loan Origination & Credit Assessment: Conduct initial application assessments; verify documentation; perform site visits and affordability analyses; prepare credit appraisal reports; ensure adherence to credit policies and underwriting standards.
• Collateral & Security Management: Inspect collateral assets; coordinate valuations; verify ownership and insurance compliance; ensure all security documentation is finalized prior to loan disbursement.
• Portfolio Monitoring & Collections: Track loan repayments; proactively follow up on overdue accounts; collaborate with management on recovery efforts; maintain portfolio quality through responsible lending and ongoing client engagement.
• Customer Service: Deliver professional service to all clients; clearly communicate loan terms and repayment obligations; respond promptly to client inquiries.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on loan applications, disbursements, pipeline status, and collections; update Branch Manager on performance and market developments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of experience in lending, credit assessment, microfinance, banking, or related financial services.
• Strong knowledge of secured lending practices and credit evaluation techniques.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the Copperbelt market is advantageous.
