Role Overview: Loan Consultant

Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Loan Consultant will play a pivotal role in marketing salary-based loan products, evaluating applications, facilitating loan disbursements, and managing repayment processes. This position requires a proactive approach to client engagement and strict adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and market salary-backed loan products to eligible retail clients.
• Identify and onboard new salaried customers through effective outreach.
• Receive, verify, and process loan applications accurately and efficiently.
• Confirm employment status, salary slips, and employer information.
• Conduct affordability and basic credit assessments to ensure responsible lending.
• Prepare and maintain precise loan documentation and records.
• Clearly communicate loan terms, repayment schedules, and conditions to clients.
• Facilitate timely loan disbursement following approval.
• Monitor loan repayments and follow up on any missed or delayed payments.
• Liaise with employers and clients regarding payroll deductions as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical lending practices.
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
• Experience in microfinance, salary-based lending, banking, or sales is advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to meet targets and work independently with minimal supervision.
• High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
• Basic proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork within Solwezi.
