Job description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Junior Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will support legal operations with a focus on debt collection, property-related disputes, and litigation support, while working closely with internal teams and external counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in handling debt collection matters, including drafting demand letters and negotiating settlements
  • Support resolution of property disputes, including tenant, landlord, and ownership-related issues
  • Attend to smaller court matters and provide litigation support where required
  • Liaise with external counsel and follow up on ongoing cases
  • Draft, review, and manage legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and provide concise legal opinions when needed
  • Maintain proper records of legal matters and ensure timely follow-ups

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
  • Must be an Advocate of the High Court
  • Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
