About the Legal Adviser Positions

We are recruiting for two full-time contract positions based at our Lusaka office. The successful candidates will play a key role in reviewing, drafting, and standardising contracts and legal documents to safeguard the company’s interests. Both experienced legal practitioners and promising junior candidates with strong legal knowledge and drafting skills are encouraged to apply. The appointment level will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capabilities.

Key Responsibilities for Legal Adviser Jobs in Lusaka

• Review, revise, and provide precise legal comments on commercial, construction, procurement, subcontracting, and service contracts within set deadlines.
• Draft, update, and standardise contract templates, legal notices, agreements, letters, and other legal documents to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Identify contractual and legal risks, offering practical recommendations to protect the company’s interests.
• Conduct thorough legal research and assist in interpreting applicable laws, regulations, court rulings, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the company in litigation, arbitration, claims, disputes, and other legal proceedings.
• Advise on corporate, labour, commercial, construction law, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Monitor changes in Zambian legislation and inform the company of relevant legal and regulatory updates.
• Perform additional legal and compliance duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A university law degree (LLB) is required.
• At least one year of relevant experience, preferably in construction law, is desirable; however, highly capable junior candidates without experience will be considered.
• Admission to practise law in Zambia with court appearance rights is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with civil law, company law, labour law, and other relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of standard construction contract conditions, such as FIDIC.
• Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work well within a team environment.
