Job description

Position Overview:
The Kitchen Steward plays a vital support role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the kitchen and its equipment at Ciela Resort & Spa. This position is ideal for someone who is hardworking, reliable, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to hygiene standards
Ensure that all dishes, pots, and pans are washed, dried, and properly stored
Assist in the disposal of kitchen waste and recycling in a safe and hygienic manner
Support chefs and kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness during service
Ensure dishwashing machines and sinks are clean and functioning properly
Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly
Restock kitchen supplies such as detergents, towels, and cleaning materials
Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures
Assist with basic food prep or deliveries as needed

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
Team player with a positive and respectful attitude
Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety practices
