The Role: Key Account Manager

Performance Indicators & Cultural Fit

Performance Metrics

  • Gross Margin Growth: Proven capability to secure, protect, and scale gross margins across all distribution channels.
  • Target Delivery: Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding annual and quarterly sales quotas through metric-driven tactics.
  • Flawless Execution: Precision execution of commercial launch calendars and principal readiness checklists.

🔥 What You Will Actually Do

🎯 Own the Strategy & Budgets

You will develop, obtain approval for, and execute annual commercial plans. You project sales volumes, forecast turnovers, and set the quotas that move the needle.

🤝 Champion Principal & Buyer Relationships

You are the bridge. You will manage listings, pricing, and promotional activities for major chain groups and independent stores, while keeping brand principals thrilled with our market readiness.

🚀 Launch & Disrupt

You will partner with local trade selling teams to launch commercial and product innovations flawlessly across Zambian retail and wholesale channels.

👥 Lead and Elevate

You won’t just manage; you will inspire. You will run weekly performance reviews, translate high-level targets into actionable daily goals for sales reps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Credentials & Expertise

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience & Toolkits

  • Comprehensive mastery of the Zambian retail, wholesale, and informal trade environments.
  • Hands-on corporate budgeting, strategic mapping, and corporate commercial alignment.
  • Strong team leadership tools to drive individual recognition and performance metrics.
