First Quantum Minerals is seeking a skilled Metallurgist – Hydromet Optimisation to support plant performance and improve hydrometallurgical processes. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about process optimization and data-driven decision-making in mining operations.

🔹 Role Overview
Responsible for optimizing hydromet circuits such as leaching, solvent extraction, and electro-winning to maximize production and efficiency.

🔹 Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and optimize plant performance and recovery rates
• Provide technical support to operations teams
• Analyze metallurgical data and prepare reports
• Conduct plant trials and laboratory test work
• Optimize reagent consumption and process efficiency
• Identify and implement process improvement projects
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures

🔹 Qualifications
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• ZAQA-verified academic qualifications

🔹 Experience
• Minimum 2 years in a plant environment
• Experience in hydromet operations (advantage)
• Knowledge of High Pressure Leach (HPL) is an added advantage
• Skills in data analysis tools (Excel, PI System) preferred
