IT Project Lead

Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Project Officer to provide essential support to our client, a telecom group operating in Zambia offering mobile, data and fintech services. The IT Project Officer will support the business initiatives through development and delivery of products and promotions.

Key Responsibilities:

New Products Airtel money related projects

Liaison with the rest of the IT functions and other business units on all new initiative’s clarity and requirements gatherings.
Provide business analysis of new products.
Design product solutions and coordinate the implementation of all new products as per the business requirement.
Drive project execution by tracking project activities, monitoring and handling changes, conflicts, and escalations.

Existing Products Support 

Perform daily O and M and ensure max availability and performance of products and promotion systems for better customer experience.
Perform Product changes as per change process.
Support of all incidents and requests on products and promotions.
Ensure maximum operational availability of all products and services.

Project Management

Manage projects for all new system requests.
Perform business analysis function, document and sign off all necessary documents – CBR, SoW.
Prepare and track Project plan and regular updates weekly.

Security and Compliance with Bharti ISP

Incorporate Bharti Security Policy on all new customer requirements and existing applications and services.
Ensure the organization’s IT Operational policies are followed during day to-day operations of all services, products and applications.
Follow the organization’s IT Governance processes in consequence management.
Closure on time all off findings and points raised during IT Audits.
Be the subject matter expert on products, promotions and technical solutions.
Responsible for solution roadmaps.
Standardization of solution environment and architecture.
Review/Validate and Prioritization of CSR.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma / degree in Computer Systems Engineering and Hardware Maintenance SPARC T7 Servers Installation and Maintenance Virtualization cloud computing Storage Tek Tape Libraries Entry-Level and Midrange Field Delivery Support Consultant.
6 years’ experience with a minimum of 4 years as infrastructure engineer within the Telecoms industry.
Experience in Networking, Hardware and managing of Data Centre infrastructure and resources.
Practical experience in server and network device.
Knowledgeable in modern server technologies, including virtualization.
Good Communication skills.
Team player.
Enthusiastic and personal drive Initiative.
Ability to handle pressure.
Willing to learn.
Flexible – Ability to handle new situations and adapt to whatever circumstances.
