Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

Lead the planning and implementation of the IT program, working with internal and external stakeholders, specialists, consultants, and suppliers to identify requirements, develop budgets and manage projects from initial planning and development through to implementation and maintenance.
Responsible for project demand management, prioritization, planning and resource evaluation, and communication with stakeholders.
Participate in IT Strategy implementation discussions on a regional/global basis and implement objectives as appropriate.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

End-to-end management of various projects simultaneously (presales, requirement gathering and analysis, defining specifications, project planning, implementation, documentation and reporting, and closure).
Collaborates with stakeholders to perform project demand management and develop the business case establishing rationale, benefits and return.
Establish the IT project office and define standards and strategies to manage quality, costs, change control, issues and risks.
Create detailed project plans based on the project charter, encompassing scope, budget, resources, timeline, and deliverables.
Implement project management best practices and host daily stand-up meetings as required.
Monitor and report actual performance and achievement against the plan.
Develop systems for project monitoring and progress reporting.
Identify potential risks and roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies.
Foster collaboration and effective communication within the team.
Allocate resources effectively, considering skills, availability and project requirements.
Drive the overall quality assurance program to a set of improved and consistent processes after a gap analysis of the team.
Regularly host feedback sessions and use the learnings to optimize processes.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 7 years IT Project Management experience
Proven experience as an IS Superintendent, IT Project Manager or similar
Experience managing both IT and software development projects
Demonstrated ability to manage projects combining both technical skills and business acumen
Experience in the mining industry will be advantageous
Member of ICTAZ
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science etc.
Relevant Project Management certifications such as PMP, Prince 2, Scrum.
