Habitat for Humanity Zambia is seeking a skilled IT Consultant to join our Finance and Operations department based in Lusaka. Role Overview: IT Consultant Jobs in Lusaka

Reporting directly to the Finance and Operations Officer, the IT Consultant will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and security of computer systems, networks, and software. Acting as the primary technical support contact, you will ensure IT systems remain reliable and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Systems Management & User Support (40%): Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, networks, and peripherals; manage internet connectivity; provide timely technical support; administer collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace; train staff on IT tools and cybersecurity best practices; monitor system performance to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Data Management & Cybersecurity (25%): Implement and maintain data backup and recovery systems; manage secure access controls; detect and respond to cybersecurity threats including malware and phishing; deploy antivirus, firewalls, and endpoint protection; promote data security awareness among staff.
  • IT Governance & Compliance (15%): Support IT strategy development and digital transformation initiatives; advise management on cost-effective, scalable IT solutions; ensure compliance with legal, organizational, and donor data protection requirements; enforce IT policies and procedures; assist with audits and manage software licensing.
  • Procurement, Vendor & Asset Management (10%): Assist with procurement of IT equipment and services following organizational policies; manage vendor relationships and service level agreements; maintain inventory and lifecycle management of IT assets.
  • Risk Management & Business Continuity (10%): Identify and mitigate IT risks; maintain the IT risk register; develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT support or systems administration; NGO experience is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems and cloud-based platforms is desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in networking, cybersecurity, Microsoft Office, cloud systems, and database management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
