Fountain Gate Crafts & Trades School is seeking a dedicated Instructor – Advanced Component Remanufacturing to join our team in Chongwe, Lusaka, Zambia. Role Overview: Instructor Advanced Component Remanufacturing Jobs Chongwe
Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will deliver both theoretical and practical training focused on inspection, diagnostics, remanufacturing, and OEM rebuild standards. This fixed-term contract position is based in Chongwe District, Lusaka Province, with a closing application date of Thursday, 25th June 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans and training materials related to component remanufacturing and associated technical processes.
- Deliver classroom and workshop instruction covering teardown, inspection, cleaning, machining, non-destructive testing (NDT), metrology, assembly, testing, quality assurance, and documentation.
- Facilitate training on technical drawing interpretation, precision measurement, failure analysis, root cause analysis, OEM rebuild standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Conduct assessments and maintain compliance and safety documentation.
- Support the development of laboratories and simulation tools.
- Train apprentices in inspection techniques including visual inspection, dimensional verification, wear analysis, and failure identification.
- Guide apprentices in applying NDT methods and interpreting inspection results.
- Demonstrate machining, restoration, and repair processes to restore components to OEM specifications.
- Supervise troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate closely with workplace mentors to support on-the-job learning and validate apprentice progress.
- Design and execute formative and summative assessments, maintain accurate training records, and participate in audits and accreditation reviews.
- Coach and develop apprentices and trainees, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Work Environment
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 hours, excluding public holidays.
- Training workshops and laboratories with occasional outdoor or industrial partner facility visits.
- Exposure to heavy equipment and outdoor fieldwork, with periods of standing while supervising trainees.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Diploma in Teaching Methodology.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
- At least 2 years of instructional experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of heavy-duty equipment systems.
- Strong instructional and facilitation skills, with proven ability to coach and mentor.
- Competency in assessment and evaluation of technical skills.
- Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), virtual training platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom), and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Preferred Certifications
- TEVETA Instructor Accreditation.
- NDT Level II Certification.
- Vibration Analysis (CAT I or CAT II).
- OEM Component Rebuild Certification.
