Humanitarian Project Coordinator Jobs in Solwezi Save the Children International is seeking a dedicated Humanitarian Project Coordinator for a temporary role based in Solwezi, Northwestern Zambia. This position focuses on emergency preparedness and response, requiring a proactive professional to coordinate critical humanitarian programs addressing child protection, health, education, and poverty alleviation. About the Role The Humanitarian Project Coordinator will be embedded within the Programme Operations team and report directly to the Head of Program Operations. The contract is for four months, classified at grade NAT 3. The role involves close collaboration with thematic leads across Education, Social Protection, Health, and Nutrition to ensure effective delivery of emergency programs. The coordinator will assess needs, coordinate resources, and partner with government agencies, civil society organizations, and implementing partners to deliver a child-centered humanitarian response. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and management of categorized humanitarian responses in Solwezi. Support coordination of emergency preparedness and response activities with partners and local stakeholders. Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely availability and prepositioning of emergency supplies. Update and review emergency preparedness and response plans, including capacity building and anticipatory action strategies. Ensure compliance with Save the Children’s safeguarding, child rights, health, safety, and equal opportunity policies. Oversee quality assurance and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities, including data collection, reporting, and maintaining beneficiary confidentiality. Work with the Media and Communications team to provide timely situation reports and success stories for public and donor engagement. Document good practices and lessons learned to improve future humanitarian responses. Qualifications and Experience University degree in Emergency Management, Public Health, Disaster Relief, Development Studies, Agriculture, International Relations, Education, Social Sciences, or related humanitarian fields. Minimum of 3 years of program or field experience in humanitarian response. Proven skills in policy formulation, financial and human resource management, and cross-cultural communication. Experience in sectors such as Food Security, Livelihoods, Education in Emergencies, or Child Protection in Emergencies, with a strong child rights approach. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel. Flexibility to travel to remote disaster-affected areas and work irregular hours during emergencies.
