Reporting directly to the Executive Director (Principal), the successful candidate will play a critical role in managing staff and student relations, overseeing performance management, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. This position demands strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of human resource policies, and the ability to foster organizational development through effective training and recruitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage personnel effectively, including both staff and students.
- Oversee performance management processes for all employees.
- Handle disciplinary procedures and grievance resolutions for staff and students.
- Support organizational growth through staff training and professional development initiatives.
- Coordinate and lead staff recruitment efforts.
- Lead the collective bargaining process with relevant stakeholders.
- Interpret and apply Staff Conditions of Service for unionized, non-represented, and management personnel.
- Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Public Administration.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience at senior management level in a similar HR role.
- Full membership in the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIHRM) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian labour laws and regulations.
