Job Purpose
To maintain, service, and repair light trucks and related vehicles to ensure roadworthiness, safety, and operational efficiency in line with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on light trucks (e.g., oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, etc.)
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
Replace and repair worn or damaged parts such as clutches, brakes, bearings, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for each vehicle.
Ensure all work is done in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Test drive vehicles after repairs to verify performance and resolution of faults.
Respond to on-road vehicle breakdowns and perform necessary repairs.
Recommend parts, tools, or services required for repairs and preventive maintenance.
Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of spares.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and tools.
Provide feedback to the fleet manager on recurring issues or vehicle replacement needs.

Qualifications & Experience

Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Repair, or related field.
Minimum 3 years experience working with light trucks or commercial vehicles.
Valid driver’s license (preferably Class C or above).
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and electronic components.
Experience with both petrol and diesel engine systems.

Working Conditions

Workshop-based with occasional field repairs
May be required to work overtime or weekends as needed
Exposure to noise, grease, fumes, and varying weather conditions
