As Head of HR, you will report directly to the Managing Director of Zambia and the Regional HR Director, playing a pivotal role in aligning human resource initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities for Head of Human Resources Jobs in Lusaka

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with the executive team to integrate HR strategies with financial and operational plans, while leading and mentoring the local HR team.
  • Values & Culture: Embody and promote G4S’s core values, oversee organizational culture, and manage ethical or whistleblowing concerns with integrity.
  • Mass Recruitment: Direct frontline workforce planning, manage high-volume recruitment campaigns, and conduct executive candidate screening to meet client demands.
  • Talent & Development: Design and implement onboarding programs, performance management systems, and succession planning to enhance business capability.
  • Employee & Labor Relations: Foster employee engagement, reduce turnover, and lead union and pay negotiations in the Zambian context.
  • Health & Safety: Collaborate with health and safety experts to mitigate risks related to firearms, vehicle operations, and other operational hazards.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Ensure fair job grading and maintain competitive compensation packages within the local market.

Candidate Profile for Head of Human Resources Jobs in Lusaka

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in human resources, including at least 3 years leading HR functions for large organizations (1,000+ employees), preferably in security, logistics, manufacturing, or retail sectors.
  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Membership or certification with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is highly advantageous.
  • Legal Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Zambia Employment Code Act and local labor legislation.
  • Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills, demonstrating agility, innovation, caring, and unwavering commitment to reliability and safety.
