NFC Africa Mining PLC (Chambishi Mine)

NFC Africa Mining PLC (Chambishi Mine), an international leader in the development of non-ferrous metals in Zambia, is committed to supporting national growth through local talent development. In line with our mission to empower the next generation of professionals, we invite innovative and dynamic new graduates to apply for our Internship Program in the following fields:

OPEN INTERNSHIP POSITIONS
1. Graduate Geologist (x3)

Focus: Learning to identify and assess the quantity and quality of mineral deposits through structural and physical earth analysis.

Learning Areas:

Assisting in exploration programs for water and minerals.

Collecting/recording samples for grade control and stockpile management.

Utilizing specialist computer applications for data analysis and risk assessment.

Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate; Degree in Geology/Geophysics; must be registered to a professional body.

2. Graduate Mining Engineer (x4)

Focus: Supporting mine planning, design requirements, and production KPI tracking.

Learning Areas:

Assisting in the development of annual and short-term mine plans.

Monitoring material movements and operational targets.

Generating daily operational reports and safety compliance audits.

Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate; Degree in Mining Engineering; Registered with EIZ.

3. Graduate Metallurgist (x3)

Focus: Gaining technical experience in Concentrator operations to optimize safety and process efficiency.

Learning Areas:

Monitoring unit efficiencies and resolving technical process problems.

Carrying out test work on reagents and grinding media.

Controlling concentrate parameters (Copper grade, Bismuth, moisture).

Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate; Degree in Metallurgy or Mineral Engineering; Registered with EIZ.

4. Graduate Electrical Engineer (x3)

Focus: Practical training in electrical design, installation, and maintenance within a mining environment.

Learning Areas:

Assisting with maintenance of mining electrical installations and high-voltage systems.

Participating in the planning of major plant shutdowns and upgrades.

Monitoring cost control and safety standards for electrical projects.

Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate; Degree in Electrical Engineering; Registered with EIZ.

5. Graduate Mechanical Engineer (x3)

Focus: Developing skills in Hoist and Ventilation plant maintenance and asset management.

Learning Areas:

Implementing Predictive and Preventive maintenance strategies.

Interpreting technical drawings and hydraulic circuits.

Analyzing equipment failure and supporting corrective action plans.

Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate; Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (MMS); Registered with EIZ.

6. Graduate IT Support Engineer (x4)

Focus: Delivering reliable technology solutions and maintaining network infrastructure.

Learning Areas:

Configuration and maintenance of server hardware and software applications.

Supporting information security and data privacy protocols.

Collaborating on the implementation of new innovative technologies.

Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate; Degree in Computer Science or IT; Strong understanding of Microsoft Server/Network environments.
