Job description
An established Civil Society Organisation (CSO) invites applications from highly motivated, recent graduates to join its Finance Department as a Graduate Finance Officer Trainee. This programme is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in financial management within the non-profit sector.
This opportunity is ideal for ambitious graduates seeking to build a career in finance, accounting, and grant management.
Duration:
The training programme is for a period of six (6) months. Subject to satisfactory performance, organisational needs, and availability of funding, successful trainees may be considered for employment upon completion of the training programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of payment vouchers and supporting documentation.
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Process cash and bank transactions in accordance with organisational policies.
- Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and filing systems.
- Support monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
- Assist in project financial reporting and donor compliance.
- Support statutory compliance, including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, and other statutory obligations.
- Assist in procurement and asset management processes.
- Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised and reputable institution.
- Recent graduate with not more than two (2) years since graduation.
- Must possess ZICA Technician, Licentiate, or Professional qualification or be registered with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
- No prior work experience is required.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting software will be an added advantage.
