As a General Practitioner at Lusaka West Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality medical services. Your responsibilities will focus on accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and timely referrals, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient history taking, clinical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment in line with medical standards.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies presenting at the facility.
• Prescribe medications responsibly and promote the rational use of pharmaceuticals.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, leveraging support services such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Physiotherapy effectively.
• Refer patients to specialists or consultants when necessary, coordinating comprehensive patient management plans.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed medical records.
• Supervise and mentor clinical and support staff as applicable.
• Participate actively in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Promote preventive healthcare and educate patients on disease management, trauma care, and lifestyle modifications.
• Adhere strictly to medical ethics, professionalism, and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Stay updated on medical advancements, emerging treatments, and clinical best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Medical degree such as MB ChB, MBBS, MD, or equivalent.
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) post-internship.
• Valid practicing license is mandatory.
• Prior clinical experience in a private hospital setting is advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Proficiency in computer use and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
