Overview

We are looking for a Forwarding Coordinator who will be responsible for managing and coordinating cross-border logistics operations, ensuring the smooth movement of goods between Zambia, Mozambique, and Malawi. This hands-on role requires expertise in freight forwarding, customs clearance, and documentation, with a focus on timely delivery, compliance, and effective communication between stakeholders. The Forwarding Coordinator will act as the central link between transporters, customs authorities, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate cross-border freight forwarding activities between Zambia, Mozambique, and Malawi.
• Prepare, review, and manage shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with regional regulations.
• Liaise with customs authorities, clearing agents, and border officials to facilitate smooth clearance of goods.
• Track shipments and monitor delivery schedules, ensuring timely and accurate movement of cargo.
• Communicate with transporters, suppliers, and customers to provide updates and resolve operational issues.
• Identify and address logistical challenges, offering practical solutions to minimize delays and costs.
• Maintain accurate records of freight costs, customs duties, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and company policies during transport operations.
• Support procurement and warehouse teams with logistics planning and inventory coordination.
• Provide regular reports to management on cross-border logistics performance and key metrics.

Qualifications and Skills
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in freight forwarding and cross-border logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures and trade regulations in Zambia, Mozambique, and Malawi.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics tracking systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Willingness to travel across borders when required.
