Job description

Job Purpose

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for to moving packages and materials around our facilities. They will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities.

You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that materials and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Unload products safely and move products to storage locations.
Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Prepare products for   dispatch ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded.
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials.
On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift.
Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Comply with the Company’s Safety Standards and Policy.

Qualifications

Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Valid Forklift Operator’s license or certification from a duly accredited training institution.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift, preferably in a depot setup.
Previous experience with loading, unloading, and managing depot operations will be an advantage.
Verification of qualifications by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) is required by law before the job offer is made to the successful candidate.
