FOREMAN

Bulk Mining Explosives Limited (BME), a member of the Omnia group of companies is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Bulk Emulsion Explosives.

BME seeks applications from highly skilled and suitably qualified candidates to fill in the positions of FOREMAN to be based in Kalumbila.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The FOREMAN will primarily be responsible for supervising mining operations and ensuring the safety of workers in the mine.The mining forman must have a deep knowledge of mining operations and safety procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of miners in a shift
Ensure compliance of safety regulations
Develop and implement mining plans to optimize productivity and efficiency
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to plan and excute equipment maintenance and repairs.
Monitor production rates and ensure compliance with production targets

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
Strong understanding of mining principles
Excellent communication and team work skills.
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in demanding and physically challenging environments

OTHER QUALIFICATION

Membership to the Zambia Institute of Engineering
Blasting certificate.
Valid driver’s license
Flexibility to work long hours during busy periods.
