Job description
We are looking for a highly experienced Fleet Management & Monitoring Systems Expert to join our team on a short-term consultancy basis for a period of two (2) months. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving complex fleet management system installation challenges, optimizing system performance, and building internal technical capacity through hands-on training and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve fleet management and monitor system installation and configuration issues.
- Optimize telematics and tracking systems for full operational efficiency.
- Conduct structured technical training and mentorship for internal staff.
- Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and final handover reports.
- Support integration and troubleshooting of GPS tracking, telematics, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure successful deployment and operational continuity across multiple sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Professional certifications in telematics, GPS tracking, fleet management systems, or IoT platforms such as Geotab, Wialon, Teltonika, Cartrack, Samsara, or equivalent.
- Certifications in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) or ITIL will be an added advantage.
Experience & Technical Requirements
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ hands-on experience in fleet management systems, telematics, vehicle tracking, and monitoring system deployments.
- Proven experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of fleet management hardware and software.
- Strong expertise in CAN-bus integration, fuel monitoring systems, driver behavior monitoring modules, and real-time tracking platforms.
- Experience with API integrations, databases, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor technical teams.
- Experience working within Sub-Saharan Africa will be an added advantage.

Duration of Engagement
