Job description
PURPOSE
The exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to ensure the safe installation, maintenance, and repairs of all mechanical equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and fabrication
Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment (pumps/screens/gearboxes, etc.).
Complete tasks as per issued job cards.
Implement maintenance schedules.
Plan for materials and manpower to assist with jobs.
Health and safety
Ensure that all safety procedures and site emergency procedures are followed as per training and site-specific standards.
Report and record unsafe acts, conditions, and incidents.
Follow written Safe Work Procedures.
Wear the correct PPE for each specific task.
Attend safety talks.
Ensure emergency preparedness among all team members.
Inspection and reporting
Identify and prioritise equipment in need of maintenance and repairs.
Conduct plant inspection of all equipment/tools and default reports in the area of responsibility.
Report all faults and problems to the Foreman.
Housekeeping
Practice good housekeeping around all work areas.
Cleaning of tools.
Store equipment properly.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
Craft Certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
Valid EIZ Membership.
EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years experience in maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment in Mining/Construction.
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High commitment to comply with the organisation’s and client’s SHEQ regulations and requirements.
Knowledge of legislation covering mechanical installations/equipment,
Attention to detail.
Flexibility and transformation-oriented.
High level of personal integrity.
Risk Management.
Outcome and deadline driven.
