About the Company
Zambezi Equities Limited is an aquaculture venture based in Luanshya, Copperbelt Province. The company is seeking a capable and driven Fish Farm Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations as it moves from construction into full commercial production.
Position Summary
- Position: Fish Farm Supervisor
- Reporting To: Board of Directors, Zambezi Equities Limited
- Location: Luanshya, Copperbelt Province
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Resident
- Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee cage-based tilapia production from stocking through to harvest
- Manage daily feeding schedules, stock density, water quality monitoring and fish health
- Coordinate fingerling procurement, feed supply and other inputs with approved suppliers
- Supervise site staff including security guards and general workers
- Maintain accurate production records, feeding logs and incident reports for board review
- Liaise with environmental consultants and regulatory bodies as required
- Implement biosecurity protocols and security measures, including CCTV monitoring and vermin mitigation
- Coordinate harvest logistics and support the development of market relationships
- Identify and escalate operational issues or risks to the board in a timely manner
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Agriculture, or a related field
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in fish farming, preferably cage-based aquaculture
- Demonstrated experience in tilapia or similar species production
- Practical knowledge of water quality management and fish health monitoring
- Experience supervising on-site teams
- Ability to maintain operational records and produce regular management reports
Added Advantages
- Familiarity with environmental and water-use regulatory requirements for aquaculture in Zambia
- Experience with cage construction, installation, or commissioning
- Knowledge of market linkages for fresh fish in the Copperbelt or Zambia generally
- Valid driving licence
