VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: FINANCE MANAGER

As part of our continued expansion and commitment to operational excellence, PG Meats seeks to recruit a Finance Manager to strengthen our financial management systems and support the company’s growth trajectory.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and implementation of strong internal controls. The role will involve managing budgets and forecasts, monitoring cash flow, coordinating audits, and providing strategic financial insights to enhance profitability and business growth.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1. Financial Management and Reporting

Ensure accuracy and compliance of all financial transactions with accounting standards.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and ensure proper cost allocations.
Process supplier invoices and manage cash flow projections.
Ensure timely financial reporting to management, the Board, and relevant stakeholders.

2. Budgeting and Financial Planning

Lead the preparation and management of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and recommend cost-control measures.
Support the development of financial policies and frameworks that promote accountability and efficiency.

3. Compliance and Statutory Reporting

Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory standards, and accounting principles.
Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and other statutory returns on time.
Maintain strong relationships with ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers’ Compensation, and auditors.
Facilitate internal and external audits through proper documentation and timely responses.

4. Internal Controls and Risk Management

Implement effective financial controls to safeguard company assets.
Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Promote a culture of transparency, financial integrity, and fraud prevention.

5. Cash Flow and Treasury Management

Manage cash flow planning to ensure operational liquidity.
Develop treasury and working capital management strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.

6. Strategic and Operational Support

Provide financial insights to guide executive decision-making.
Support operations teams with financial analysis to enhance performance.
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure sound financial oversight of company initiatives.

7. Team Leadership and Development

Mentor and build the capacity of finance staff.
Conduct performance reviews and promote continuous professional development.
Foster collaboration, professionalism, and accountability within the finance function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 School Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia.
Full Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
