Job Summary: The Finance Intern will provide essential support to our finance department, assisting with all tasks. This role offers a valuable opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment, learn practical accounting principles, and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis
Prepare and review periodic budgets and forecasts; analyse monthly management accounts with variance and exception reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Controls and Compliance
Strengthen internal controls and business processes to mitigate financial risk and ensure compliance with company and statutory policies and regulatory standards.
Accounting and Reconciliations
Manage general ledger functions, including posting journal entries, reconciling key accounts, processing cashbook transactions, and performing monthly bank and cash-on-hand reconciliations.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management
Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, supplier payments, customer billing, collections, and monthly reconciliations (control accounts and age analysis).
Budget Adherence and Procurement Oversight
Monitor organizational expenditure to ensure adherence to budgets and compliance with procurement policies and approval protocols.
Inventory and Warehouse Management
Maintain inventory accuracy by managing stock codes and warehouse structures in Evolution, processing receipts and dispatches, and recording inter-warehouse stock transfers. Perform monthly inventory reconciliations

Person Specifications:

A degree in Accounting / Finance or Professional Qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply a year or more experience is an added advantage.
Software Proficiency, Enthusiasm, reliability, and the ability to multi-task.
A self-starter who is sufficiently motivated and ambitious to work on their own initiative without unnecessary needing direction.
