Job description

WeForest

WeForest is an international non-profit association headquartered in Belgium with the mission to conserve and restore the ecological integrity of forests and landscapes, engaging communities to implement and deliver lasting solutions for climate, nature, and people. We promote science and best practices in a culture of sharing and inclusion so that others can replicate and augment what we do.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, and documentation.
Payment processing
Petty cash planning and disbursements while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to petty cash policies.
Support compliance efforts with internal policies and external regulations
Maintaining an efficient filing system (ensure efficient filing of all stakeholder correspondence, contracts)
Scanning of all accounting documentation used for supporting financial reports
Perform any other duties as required by the Finance & Admin teams

Key Requirements:

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
Strong interest in pursuing a career in finance, accounting, or business administration.
Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn.
Must be a resident of Ndola
