About the Role: Field Service Engineer Jobs in Lusaka The Field Service Engineer will take ownership of technical operations and troubleshooting at assigned clusters, ensuring reliable and efficient energy system performance. This position is critical for maintaining a minimum of 99.9% energy uptime and achieving 98% pack health across hubs in the Lusaka region. You will be responsible for conducting in-person repairs, testing new products and firmware, and ensuring smooth commissioning and go-live of hubs. Key Responsibilities Technical Troubleshooting and Management (50%): Monitor and resolve energy system issues, escalate defective packs, conduct in-field repairs, and manage technical documentation. Reporting (15%): Provide daily, weekly, and monthly updates on hub status, technical challenges, and maintenance plans to regional coordinators and engineers. Planning and Leadership (15%): Develop weekly route plans for hub visits, prioritize issues, and participate in strategic meetings to address operational gaps. Management & Supervision (15%): Maintain accurate inventory records and attend regional coordination meetings. Other Duties (5%): Log field activities and support continuous operational improvements. Qualifications and Experience Diploma or Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. 2-3 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic systems or devices. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, software, and data analysis applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and team collaboration. Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and procedures. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative. Team-oriented mindset to support collective goals and operations. Performance Metrics and Collaboration Success in this role will be measured against key performance indicators including: 99.9% Energy Uptime 98% Pack Health (maximum 2% defective packs at any time) 95% Charge Health The Field Service Engineer will collaborate closely with Jaza Stars, Hub Managers, fellow Field Service Engineers, Regional Service Engineers, Regional Coordinators, and the TechOps Lead to ensure seamless technical operations.
